Getting into to honors in high school and being in honor roll in middle school was one of my greatest achievements. The reason why it’s one of my greatest achievements is because when I was starting to attend school I had a difficult time following with the lesson. First of all, Spanish was my first language, both of parents didn’t understand English too much and my sister couldn’t help me with my homework because she was still too young. Since little I was always independent with school work, but my grammar, reading, and spelling was terrible. I have school work that I did when I was little and every time I seen the worksheet half of me is embarrassed and the other side of myself is proud of how much learning I have gained over the years. I remember the time I went to summer school like in third grade, one of the reason why I went to summer school was because I was falling behind. Gladly I pass third grade, but I still got low grades. Until I got into middle school everything started to change , for example, I started to get A’s and B’s which was great. Since 6th grade I have kept a promise to myself that I would start a fresh new start, that fresh new start meant getting good which I did for three straight years. I want to continue doing that until I have finish my education and have reached my dreams. Also, during all of my hardships and achievement there was the stereotype that my race which in Latinos are people who have poor jobs and that we don’t have the best education over other races. This is of course all lies, but it made me feel weak in the inside. As soon I got into honors and into honor roll I showed myself and the people who made this stereotypes that latinos are capable of many thing. In my family there is only like two or four cousins who are in college or have graduated college, which makes me feel disappointed and despairing. I want myself and my other young family members to graduate from college and get a good career. I also want to show people who are against Hispanic being smart and capable of many thing including getting a good job, that Hispanic can change that stereotype. All of my struggles have transform me into the person who I am now and the person I want to be in the future. This hardships have transition my childhood by changing my points of view in education and in my goals for my future. Also, another of my accomplishments was being one of the students to visit and learn about the U.S history in Washington D.C. The reason why I was chosen to go to Washington D.C was mainly because I had excellent grades and because I had a great behavior with my classmates and my teachers. That was one of my recent accomplishment during 7th grade. Also, improving in my math Map scores which was a great accomplishment. I remember studying mostly everyday to reach my goal. The computer system which makes the score that they want you to reach by the end of the year, I actually pass over the score the computer system wanted me to get. In that time I felt so accomplish with myself. When I’m struggling with something I always remember of these accomplishments that I accomplish and how I got there. So, I always tell myself I can do anything if I believe in myself and in my religion and if I give 100% on what I’m dedicated to the most. One of my goal for this year and the rest of high school is to accomplish many things, like being accepted into a good college and getting a good GPA score and a good SAT score also to have a great career, future, and live a happy life.

App Unit Reflection

  1. In Phase 1 what I did was create an app development Platform and also I created the structure by applying the correct design feature for a GUI. In Phase 2 I created a GUI with navigation and I also created a database and display results from the database to an App. In Phase 3 I created an App about the topic Naughty and Nice and created a data type. In phase 4, I created the GUI and connected the GUI to google Maps API. Also, In all the phases I learned how to connect all the pages together so that when I tested the App the App will be completed.
  2. I concept and a skill that I learned was creating App with a database and also creating an App that contains a Image and a link. I also learned the skill that helped me was changing the google Map.  I concept that I learned was the 6 steps to develop an App such as creating the concept, interaction, design, code, testing, and completing the App. Another skill that I learned was adding an image from google and adding it to the App. Also, a set of skills that I learned was attaching the start page and the next page so that when I tested the app it could work.
  3. I would like to design an App that  the concept could be about Music. The reason I will like to create a App about Music is because people could use the app to listen to their favorite type of music or could listen to new types of genre. Also, the music app could inform the user about other artist in the music entertainment and the user could see their artist most popular song. Also, the user could see the ranking of the most popular artist in the music industry.

Networking Reflection

  1. What was your favorite thing you learned from this Unit?
    The most favorite thing that I learned this Unit is learning about Ciphers such as Substitution cipher and Caesar Cipher. The reason why its my favorite part of the unit is because I learned how to  Encrypt and decrypt messages. Also, another favorite thing that I learned from this Unit is about Scammers and hackers. I also gain new knowledge about hackers and scammers which I didn’t had a proper definition for before learning about them.
  2. What was your least favorite thing you learned from this Unit?                                           My least favorite thing that I learned from this Unit is  Crossover cables and straight  through cables. I didn’t like the hands on work which was kind of frustrating to insert the little cables into the RJ-45. Also, working with the Ethernet cables was not a project which I learned too much about. learning about Ethernet cables was a topic which I wasn’t very interested on learning because the hands on project was kind of difficult if you didn’t have patience.
  3. What would you like to have learned more about?                                                                      I will like to have learned more about Hackers and what other things they do or just learn more information about Hackers. I will also would want to learn more about scammers. I interested in learning more about scammers such as learning techniques that they use to scam someone or how do they feel when they scam someone or how are they influence into scamming someone.

In this project I will show how Cyberbullying can impact someone and effect their daily life. Cyberbullying can happen to anyone but in order to stop this act of evil, people need to join as a community and take action by showing people the proper way of using social media so that these king a cruel cases can stop. While doing this project about cyberbullying I have notice that people who are the bullying is not only one person, but multiple people who join as a army to attack on type of person just by their believes, looks, and what ever people find unnormal which is just making the victim have low self esteem about themselves.

    DE-ESCALATION:
    binary storyboard 2.PNGThis story line is DE-escalating because the story starts when these two girls are making fun of this other girl because of her body size and because she order way too much food. The judgmental girls see the girl that they were teasing they started to make more fun of her. When they saw her they decided to take a picture  and post it in Snap-chat and people started to comment really negative stuff , but someone named James started to defend the girl that was being judge. The girls keep judging her until James stands up for her and later the girls who bully her ended up apologizing for their actions.                                                                                                                                             ESCALATION:

In this scenario two boys start to talk to each other and become more close to each other. One day this girl ask Nick, one of those two guys ,if they want to hang out , but Nick says that he has to take care of his sister. The next day the girl who ask Nick name Cindy saw both Nick and Alex together which made Cindy mad because Nick lied to her about not being able to hang out together. The next day in class Nick and Alex are talking and Cindy is texting one of her friends and they both start to talk about how Alex and Nick  are gay.  Cindy’s friend posted on social media about a rumor that  Nick and  Alex are gay and that they are dating each other. The next day Alex finds out about the rumors and tells Nick and but of them deny being gay and they are just friends but people still think they are gay.

 

Tips to help stop cyber bullying on your own

  • Talk to an adult if you see someone get bully or report it to a trusted adult like a parent, teacher,
  • Save the evidence of the scene of the cyber bullying and report it.
  • Don’t respond to hateful comments
  • Learn more about Cyber Bullying
  • Keep your data secure by not giving people your password
  • Don’t engage on the bullying because you are continuing the bullying which will lead into being the bully yourself.

 

Reflection

After doing this project I have learned that the new generation that are getting more involve with media need to learn how to prevent cyber bullying from curing and that know one has the right to make negative comments about you or other people. Social media has been a source of evil toward young generations that can impact the life of many people who have been a victim of cyber bullying. Victims of cyber bullying have deal with the negative comments about them which can lead them to do terrible hard to themselves which can effect not only them but their families and friends and who ever cares about them. I have also realize that people especially teens have been born to this terrible situation that has control their daily life. Since in this generation is involve with technology and their are many user who use that technology to their benefit but other users have use them to make other people have very negative thought about their life.

What I liked about this project is that there was two story boars where one showed the escalation of cyber bullying and the other story board talked about the de escalation about he story board which gave the viewer two perspective of cyber bullying and how on person what prevent cyber bullying and stop cyber bullying if you are witnessing.

The story line explains the events that the victim of cyberbullying is passing which is effecting their self esteem and their value. Also the  storyboard shows how someone could help the victim of the cyberbullying and how they could change the situation and speak help the victim speak out.

I think the story board and the description shows a good example of what might happen when someone is being bully and how someone could help the victim speak up and tell someone to help them with their problem instead of staying there and let the bullies bully them.

This project helped me understand more about the situation of someone being bully and how to stand up for someone who is being bully. Also I learned that helping someone stand up for themselves is not only helping the person being bully but showing an example to other that we need to stand up for someone being bully and not just watch them being treat like that.

What I learned while reading the scenarios is that technology has influence many young people of this generation and that we have to work together so that we could stop cyber bullying form happing and not letting people judge someone by their looks or just the way that they act.

What I learned while looking at this project is that young people who are in social media need to think twice before posting something on social media that might end up hurting someone and people will start to bully someone just by one post on social media.
